INTRODUCTION | DIARY ENTRIES

These pages contain the Diary of a Haemodialysis Patient!

Please READ this introduction as it will help you understand what this sites about!

If you are unfamiliar with dialysis terminology please see www.kidneypatientguide.com

If you want more information and or support about kidney disease/failure please see www.kidney.org.uk

For those of you who are completly ignorant of dialysis, haemodialysis is used to replace about 15% function of failed kidneys and is usually carried out 3 times weekly for an average of about 4 hours.

Although transplantation provides relative freedom from dialysis, there is no complete cure for kidney failure.

You poor cretin, you are the <IMG SRC="/bin/counter/[index.htm]"> person to visit this page!

This diary has been written to provide a view into the life of a haemodialysis patient. It is also to give a frank, personal view into renal care in this country at the beginning of the 21st century. For this reason it remains anonymous.

For similar in the USA please see kidneychick.diaryland.com

This site will be updated weekly if possible!
